TUESDAY NIGHT - 7.30-9PM - FROM TUESDAY 18 JANUARY UNTIL TUESDAY 22 MARCH 2005
• IMPROVERS 2

WEDNESDAY NIGHT - 7.30-9PM - FROM WEDNESDAY 19 JANUARY UNTIL WEDNESDAY 23 MARCH 2005
• CURRENT AFFAIRS (suitable for Intermediate 3 to Advanced).
Fee: £82.50, incl. all documents and tea or coffee.
Although quite a challenging course (Personal work is quite important for this course!), it is also very rewarding: it involves lively discussions on a wide range of issues at the heart of the French and European news, which allow for relatively ‘pain-free’ acquisition of new vocabulary and idioms. Use of articles from Le Monde newspaper.

THURSDAY NIGHT - 7.30-9PM - FROM THURSDAY 20 JANUARY UNTIL THURSDAY 24 MARCH 2005
• IMPROVING LISTENING COMPREHENSION THROUGH FILM (suitable for Elementary 3 to Advanced levels)
Fee: £82.50, incl. all documents and tea or coffee.
Suggested films: LES ENFANTS DU PARADIS (2nd part) (Marcel Carné); JEAN DE FLORETTE
This course is actually not as daunting as it sounds. It focuses on improving listening comprehension through a very specific viewing of film extracts. Because you will have seen the film with English subtitles before the course starts, you will have the necessary background information that will allow you to focus on specific language problems. Excellent to improve your listening skills for ‘normal speed’ French.
