DUTY STATION: Moyo sub-office.
Duties:
(i) Data analysis and database cleaning.
· Cleaning the addresses- making sure each address has the right information
· Correcting any errors that were made during the verification/census e.g. people who are visibly old by looking at their photographs and are not given any special need in the database, placing in any missing addresses and missing bio-data.
· Going back to the field to verify refugees who never turned up for the verification exercise because of different reasons.
· Registering new born babies and new refugees; especially those from Sudan.
· Tracing cases of illegal registration which included registration of Ugandan citizens and Sudanese nationals who are not refugees.
· Running different statistical reports which were occasionally requested by my supervisor using the database reporter called ProGres Reporter.
(ii) Registration for Voluntary Repatriation.
· Registering refugees who are willing and want to return to their origin country especially those going to Sudan.
· Registering and tagging the refugees’ livestock and other belongings; for planning purposes back in Sudan.
· Preparing a daily report on the number of refugees that have been registered for voluntary repatriation, which included where the refugees’ intended return location and which settlement they reside in and submitting it to my supervisor.

United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Moyo and Adjumani Refugee Settlements
DUTY STATION (S): Adjumani and Moyo Field offices.
AIM: To know the number of refugees in Moyo and Adjumani districts to prepare
for repatriation.
Duties:
- Interview refugees and get their basic bio data (name, age, country and place of birth, nationality, religion, ethnicity, level of education, and whether they wish to return to their origin/home countries), take a passport size photograph of each refugee and enter it in the UNHCR database called ProGres.
- Create addresses for the refugees which included asylum country, origin country and intended place of return( in case the refugee is interested in returning to the origin country)
- Create special needs especially for the old, unaccompanied/minor children, single female households(widows as a result of the war in Sudan and northern Uganda) and landmine victims
- Withdraw the refugees’ old ration card and issue a new one where all the bio data has been stored with the family sizes punched

Civil Aviation Authority,
Entebbe International Airport.
Duties:
- Carry out maintenance at different places at the airport e.g. proper maintenance of the entire lighting system of the terminal building.
- Maintenance of different switchgear within the terminal building and the air traffic control tower. E.g. placement and resetting of circuit breakers.
- Monitoring the proper functioning of the public information systems e.g. the public address systems in the different areas of the terminal building, the tele-indicators, monitors indicating the different flights, loud speakers at the airport.
- Troubleshooting and setting the different security scanning machines e.g. the Rapiscan machines for checking luggage.
- Maintenance and cleaning of the tele-indicators, which indicate flight destinations within the terminal building.
- Maintenance done on the radar- model PPS 70 USA located at Nsamizi near the airport.
- Maintenance of the different solar systems for radio systems and antennae outside the airport premises e.g. one in Buwaya off Entebbe road.
- Maintenance of the airfield ground lighting e.g. cleaning and replacement of runway end lights.
- Monitoring of the entire electrical distribution of the airport and control tower. The distribution included the ring supply system of 3.3 KV, the 415V and 240V supply. It also had the No- break generator system, which supplied power 24hours.

New vision Printing and Publishing Company Ltd,

Duties:
· Maintenance of the entire lighting system of the factory and office premises.
· Monitoring and maintenance of the electricity distribution in the offices and factory but under supervision of the senior electrical technician.
· Maintenance of the new switchgear installed at the new factory within the new vision premises. E.g. the low voltage (L.V) distribution boards.
· Installation of new power terminals, socket outlets running new cables, installation of new cable trunkings around the old factory.
· Installing new telephone extension lines around the factory.
· Maintenance, troubleshooting and overhauling of some press machines especially those with electrical faults e.g. fixing new motors.
